Referee Course

The FA are running a referees course at Birchwood High School in February, please see details below.  Due to the shortage of referees, the Club would like to encourage any players who are interested in refereeing to book on the course.  If you are aware of any players who may be interested can you please encourage them to book onto the course through the Herts FA website.  The cost of the course is £150.

BSCFC are fully supportive of this initiative and will offer to reimburse the candidate’s course fee by £75 on completion of the course; with the balance of the course fee, £75, being paid back to the candidate once they have become a fully qualified referee and having refereed at least 5 matches (involving at least one BSCFC team in each match at 9 or 11 a side), this is in addition to any match fee they are entitled to.

A Mentor from BSCFC will also be available to assist the newly qualified Referee.

THE FA BASIC REFEREE COURSE (THEORY & PRACTICAL)

Course Information:

  • Minimum Age: 14
  • Course Duration: Minimum of 34 Guided Learning Hours
  • Course Prerequisites: Completion of pre-course activity packNone
  • Who is it for: This course is open to anyone who is interested in officiating 11 a side or 9 v 9 football.
  • Course aims and objectives: The Referees Course provides participants with an insight to the laws of the game and their practical application on the field of play. It also looks at the skills required to be a referee.
  • Leading to: Registered Referee Status (either level 8 Youth Referee or Level 7 Junior County Referee)
