Leagues and Competitions
Which leagues do our teams play in?
The Club’s teams participate in the following leagues and cups.
Eastern Junior Alliance Football League
The EJA provides a high standard of first team football for the youth sections of senior clubs playing at or above level 5 of the National League System and it attracts teams from across the east of England. The league runs from U13 to U18 and plays mainly on Sunday with a midweek cup competition.
Mid Herts Rural Minors League
The MHRML is the most local of the leagues in which the Club enters teams, with a catchment area of 15 miles from central Hertford. It is a large league providing football for all ages and ability levels. The league includes teams from Hertford, Ware, Harlow, Cheshunt, Enfield, Welwyn, Hatfield, Stevenage, Hitchin & Letchworth so travel to away games is usually reasonable. U7-U11 matches are played on Saturday, switching to Sundays from U12 onwards.
Royston Crow Youth Football League
The RCYFL is medium-sized league with a catchment area of 25 miles from Royston. It significantly overlaps the area catered to by the MHRML and many clubs enter teams in both leagues. U7-U9 matches are played on Saturday, switching to Sunday from U10 onwards.
Brentwood Community Football Alliance Youth League
The BCFAYL is a fairly new league with a catchment area of 25 miles from Brentwood, offering Sunday football up to U15.
Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League
All our girls teams play in the HGFPL, covering Hertfordshire and some teams in North London. Matches are played on Saturday.
Youth County Cups
The Club usually enters the strongest three teams in each age group into the Hertfordshire FA Challenge Cup from U12 upwards. The County Cup is open to all teams in Hertfordshire, so our teams may be drawn against very strong opposition. Girls County Cup matches are played on Saturday with the boys & mixed teams on Sunday.
The Club also has the option to enter teams in the Youth Cup competitions of the Amateur Football Alliance, which runs separate Saturday and Sunday competitions.
Senior Team – Bishop’s Stortford FC
Bishop’s Stortford FC senior mens team plays in the Premier Division of the Pitching In Isthmian League, which is step 3 of the National League System and the 7th tier of English football. The Blues play their home matches at the R & D Advisors UK Stadium at Woodside Park, CM23 5RG. All BSCFC players are entitled to free admission to home matches on presentation of their Club Membership Card.
