BSCFC Chairman’s Message – Season 2019-20

Dear All

As we approach another exciting season your Club’s Committee and I, wish ALL Managers, Players, Coaches, Parents, Friends and Relatives an enjoyable and successful 2019/20.

Please remember the Club’s ethos of “combining excellence in the community with excellence on the pitch”, our core playing values of “playing with no fear, game intelligence, winning the ball/keeping the ball, respect and discipline and most of all enjoyment”. I would also remind you of the FA’s Respect Campaign that BSCFC fully support.

The Club, as ever, have had a busy summer off the field with further significant investment, on your behalf, into the pitches and facility at Friedberg, in addition we have again invested in the equipment we provide for you at our various playing sites in Bishops Stortford and the surrounding areas. These are your facilities and your equipment please be proud of and value them.

This season we will again be running around 80 Teams (Girls/Boys/Academy/Mens/Ladies/Veterans and Disabled sides) with approximately 900 Players. We will be competing across the counties of Herts/Essex/Cambridgeshire/London/Norfolk/Suffolk and Bedfordshire.

To successfully deliver and achieve the Club’s ethos and values across all of our teams, Soccer Development, a totally independent organisation from BSCFC, will continue to provide excellent coaching for the Boys U8 – U11 Age Groups, with Gary Mardle, again independently, providing the coaching for the U7 Age Group. The individual coaches that are provided in the girls sections and for the older boys age groups, that is the envy of many of the Clubs we compete with, will continue under the supervision of Tim Moylette BSCFC’s Head Coach and Ray Greenwood BSCFC’s Lead Coach for the Boys U12 – U18 Age Groups as well as the ever growing U10 – U18 Girls Section. Both Tim and Ray will continue to oversee the Club’s playing philosophy and to ensure the independent coaches that have been employed by the various teams are to the required standard.

Off the field, we will continue to develop relationships that we have built up with the Football Association, the various local Premier League and Football League Clubs as well as the numerous non-league Clubs in the area.

Dialogue will also continue with our local Councillors and other interested bodies/parties in our ambition to obtain the Club’s own facilities.

The local Bishop’s Stortford Independent Newspaper will, hopefully, be printing regular BSCFC match reports as well as any Club News. Our Social Media Platforms of Facebook/Twitter/Instagram will also be used – please support and “like” these mediums!!

To assist the running of the Club, I’m pleased to advise that Jo Ivory has volunteered and has been elected as the Club’s Finance Officer and Ajay Shah has agreed to look into the commercial operations and strategy of the Club. I’m sure you will join in me in supporting them fully (and all other Committee Members), wishing them luck in their roles and thank them for giving up some of their free time for your benefit.

If there are any issues (positive (preferably!!) or negative) please do not hesitate to let me or any Committee Member know.

Finally enjoy the Season… come on BSCFC!

 Best wishes

 Grant Hegley
